One dead after a fatal traffic collision in Corcoran

FRESNO, Calif. -- Corcoran Police say on Sunday morning about 3:30 am, officers responded to a report of a traffic collision in the Whitley Avenue, west of Highway 43.
They arrived to find a vehicle had struck a guardrail on the south side of the bridge crossing an irrigation ditch at that location. The vehicle landed partially submerged in the irrigation ditch and the driver suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision.
Danielle Leon, 23, was identified as the driver and was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation and anyone with information regarding this collision is encouraged to call the Corcoran Police.
