EXETER, Calif. (KFSN) -- A horse rescue facility in the Valley is getting a helping hand from some generous Action News viewers.

A & F Equine Rescue and Equine Therapy in Exeter has been taking in large numbers of horses whose owners could no longer afford to feed them because the price of hay has gone up during the drought. But the expensive feed has also been taking a toll on the shelter, which currently has 27 horses.

A Fresno couple who saw our story about those struggles Saturday night is now donating $10,000 to help the facility. The couple has asked to remain anonymous.

Staff members say the money will help feed the horses they have and allow them to do even more rescues.

You can help A & F Equine Rescue and Equine Therapy by either volunteering or donating online.
