FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Dozens of animals are getting to know their new families. A total of 76 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens found their forever homes on Saturday during Super Adoption at the Valley Animal Center.

This annual event in East Central Fresno brings together more than a dozen local shelters and rescue groups so people can look for their perfect pet in one convenient place. Visitors could also check out the kids zone, several vendor booths and a performance by the Mutts in Motion Flyball Team.

Organizers say they were happy with the turnout, despite the heat. "We're just really grateful we have so many people who want to come down, support adoptions, volunteer, help out, and find these furry animals the loving home they deserve," said Nina Tonnu with the Valley Animal Center.

ABC30 was a proud sponsor of Saturday's Super Adoption. Action News anchor Sara Sandrik had the honor of serving as emcee.
