Governor's office holds summit in Fresno encouraging California-Mexico business relations

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Representatives from the Governor's office held a summit in Fresno Wednesday to encourage California-Mexico business relations. The summit is part of Governor Browns 2014 trade and investment agreement with the Mexican government.

The agreement focuses on growing local businesses which then grows jobs.

Business leaders talked about the benefits of the forming a relationship with Mexican commerce. Speakers discussed why the Central Valley is a major player for the state.

"These are Fresnans exporting millions of dollars of products produced right there in the Valley sent all over the world. And it's obvious that the demand for international trade, in both directions, is here. It's time for all of us to work together to strengthen those ties growing businesses on both sides of the border," said Nathan Ahle, Fresno Chamber of Commerce.

Organizations from all over California were in town for the summit. All discussed the benefits of creating cross-border relations.
