Since World War II, Californians have relied on ever-expanding roadways to drive farther and farther distances to get from here to there. The result has been sprawl and more and more vehicle miles traveled.
Recently, concerns over air pollution and climate change have urban planners looking at a wider variety of transportation and housing options, but will they work? We'll talk to Laura Podolsky and Gian-Claudia Sciara with the Institute of Transportation Studies at UC Davis and Paul Zykofsky, the associate director of the Local Government Commission.
