FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Those who smoke electronic cigarettes can no longer do so in restaurants or anywhere else smoking of tobacco is banned in Tulare County.

The county supervisors approved the E-cig ban on Tuesday. It applies to restaurants, workplaces and buildings owned and leased by Tulare County.

Unlike standard cigarettes that burn tobacco and generate smoke, E-cigarettes are loaded with liquid nicotine, flavoring and other chemicals. The battery-powered cigarette turns the chemicals into a vapor that a person inhales.
