Say hello to this adorable googly-eyed squid!
The adorable squid was spotted off the coast of California.

Feast your eyes on this adorable stubby squid.

The crew of the E/V Nautilus, an oceanic vessel used to explore and study biology, geology, archaeology and more, encountered this big-eyed squid while exploring the coast of California. Known as Rossia pacifica, the stubbly squid "looks like a cross between an octopus and squid, but is more closely related to cuttlefish," the E/V Nautilus wrote on YouTube.

The squid lives on the seafloor and uses a "sticky mucus jacket" to camouflage itself, often leaving its eyes pointing out to spot prey. This squid was spotted 900 meters below the surface (2,950 feet) but others have been seen at 1,300 meters below (4,260 feet).
