COARSEGOLD, Calif. (KFSN) -- The community of Coarsegold continues to rally support for Hannah Lockwood who's fighting for a chance to smile.

One teacher is ready to put her own hair on the line for Hannah. Saying she will dye her hair if they get over $1,000 for Hannah who was born with Moebius Syndrome. A condition which prevents her from smiling.

Monday, an assembly was held at Hannah's school to talk about fundraising for her upcoming surgery.

"All of our students were given smile buttons just like this to wear and slowly but surely our students have started bringing in money to support her," said Hillary Campbell, Hannah's teacher. "They've been pretty involved so far. They're rallying around her and they just really wanna see her smile when she when she comes back for first grade next year and so do I."

Hannah is scheduled to undergo surgery this summer. So, the school started Hannah's Smile, a Facebook page, to help raise funds. The community has already raised more than $17,000.
