FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Five remarkable people were honored Thursday in Fresno for their work helping the community's most vulnerable children.

Comprehensive Youth Services held its 13th annual Child Advocacy Awards at Pardini's in Northwest Fresno.

The people honored had devoted their lives to helping at-risk kids and youth and many of them are proud, yet humble, about their work.

"I do what I do because it's the right thing to do," Lupe Jaime with the Fresno County Office of Education said. "It's not because I think I'm doing anything special. It's part of who we are as a person. "

FCYS also held also honored Lisa Casarez of Angels of Grace Foster Care Agency, Jeffrey Robinson with Community Link and Maci Young from Central Unified. Darius Assemi with Grandville Homes was also honored for his many community contributions.
