FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Fresno man paid tribute to his late girlfriend with an exhibit at Fresno's Art Hop on Thursday.

Kelly Dunn was 52 years old when she passed away last July from lung cancer. The day she died, Javier Veliz began to use painting as a form of therapy to cope with his loss. In all, he created 67 pieces, most of them with a yoga theme.

"The yoga theme is based upon the fact that our love affair was based in yoga. She practiced at COIL Yoga; I practiced at Blue Moon Yoga. Two completely different types of yoga styles, but she always encouraged me," said Veliz.

All of the proceeds from Thursday's show went toward the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation in Northern California. The organization funds cancer research.
