Fresno businesses are gearing up for Valentine's Day weekend
Valentine's day is just days away and many people are probably thinking about what they're going to do this weekend.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Valentine's day is just days away and many people are probably thinking about what they're going to do this weekend.

Chefs at the Elbow Room are gearing up for a busy Valentine's Day weekend. "We expect Sunday to be full tilt. We'll have a special menu that will be our best selling selected items off the menu, plus Alaskan King Crab legs and Australian lobster tail and seared sea scallops and a lot of different combinations," said Michael Shirinian, The Elbow Room.

Shirinian said his restaurant will be rolling out the red carpet for customers, not just for one day, but all weekend, since Valentine's Day falls on a Sunday. They have a special menu and wine pairings prepared.

There's also a wine trail going on in Madera and Fresno Counties. Twin Rivers Vintners Association is hosting its wine and chocolate lovers weekend. A dozen wineries and two breweries will be part of the event. "We paired it with Valentine's Day weekend because we want to show Fresno County has so much to offer, there's award-winning wine and award winning local beer," said Jordan King, Twin Rivers Vintners Association.

Wine tasting's run Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $10 with your own glass.

If you're looking for a gift idea, the gift of pampering never goes out of style. The Spectrum Salon has several specials for Valentine's Day from couples massages to salon treatments. "I think it's romantic for girls. The massage itself is just really nice and relaxing. A facial is great also. You can just improve your skin tone and there's all kind of benefits that come with it," said Lacie Phillips, Spectrum Salon, day salon.

Back at the Elbow Room, employees said now is the time to make reservations for a special evening out. "I think it's a nice way to say to your loved one, 'look I, know we can cook and stay at home, but I want to do something special for you and I know all the restaurants will be bending over backward to make it a special day for you'," said Shirinian.

A day filled with love and good company.
