Fresno woman writes book for adopted son
Erica Garabedian says she and her husband couldn't find any children's books about foster adoption to read to their own adopted son so she wrote one herself.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- What began as a search for a book has turned into a very personal project for a Fresno mother, one that countless other families could benefit from for years to come.

Erica Garabedian says she and her husband couldn't find any children's books about foster adoption to read to their own adopted son so she wrote one herself.

She's the author of My Forever Valentine, the story of a young boy who asks his father about being adopted. "A lot of them that are out there just seem to be more about international adoption there wasn't a whole lot about foster adoption so for us, just writing one for my son seemed appropriate," Garabedian said.

Erica says initially she wrote the book just for her son. But after reading it, her husband encouraged her to get the book published.
