FRESNO COUNTY (KFSN) -- Getting swimmers on the river safely and fully equipped is a full-time job for the Fresno Riversport Center at Cobb Ranch.

"The main thing that people know us for our birthday parties, but we do all kinds of events-- and we do baptisms and weddings and all kinds of things. River oriented activities," said Jim Cobb, Cobb Ranch owner.

From canoeing to kayaking to stand-up paddle boarding-- rentals are affordable. Getting a kayak for three hours only costs $30.

"We really emphasize water safety so all the kids will learn how to properly learn how to wear a life jacket. They have a safety whistle, they'll know what to do in case of an emergency," said Steve Starcher, Fresno Riversport Center.

Getting a rental and onto the river is really easy, but it is by reservation only. All you have to do is go to their website and sign up.

Instructional classes are also offered for all ages. Like their kayak fishing program or week long water sports summer class.

They're even searching for a paddle board yoga instructor to develop a new program.

"Anytime somebody comes out we have people to train people, to teach them the safety. We have life jackets, we have all the facilities," said Cobb.

From the Friant Dam all the way to the delta-- there's no shortage of river to enjoy.
