Merced holds its first-ever Run or Dye 5K

MERCED, Calif. (KFSN) -- People may have noticed a lot of colorful characters in the North Valley on Saturday morning.

Hundreds of people took part in Merced's first-ever Run or Dye 5K. Participants ran 3.1 miles around the Merced College campus, while being blasted with brightly colored cornstarch.

Organizers say the event is intended to celebrate friendship, fitness and fun.
