Person who led police to double murder suspect given small reward by Clovis PD

SEASIDE, Calif. (KFSN) -- The person who helped lead police to Dave McCann this morning was given a small reward for the tip.

Clovis police officers used their own money to buy Pete Thanos a new bicycle.

Investigators were combing the town of Seaside armed with a picture of McCann. Thanos said he recognized him and knew where he was sleeping.

"He was a little sketchy-- There was something off about him. When I saw his picture-- and that was him."

Investigators said this was one of those cases that took some old-fashioned police work.

McCann was off the grid with no cell phone and no ATM transactions.
