Futures Worth Fighting For Telethon is Thursday

The third annual Futures Worth Fighting For Telethon is Thursday, August 17th. ABC30 and Valley Children's Hospital are teaming up for the event. Viewers and followers will be encouraged to make a donation to Valley Children's Hospital. You just need to pick up your phone.

The hospital located in Madera County is the only one of its kind between Northern and Southern California. Action News anchor Tony Cabrera will kick off the telethon at 5 a.m. and the station will broadcast live reports and cut-ins throughout the day.

The telethon includes special stories about the patients, doctors, staff, and families impacted by Valley Children's. Donors are encouraged to text the word GEORGE to 80077 or call 1-877-353-0000. The telethon ends 8 p.m. Thursday. Valley Children's Hospital is a nonprofit, state-of-the-art children's hospital on a 50-acre campus.

It has a medical staff of more than 550 physicians. With 356 licensed beds, Valley Children's Hospital is one of the largest hospitals of its type in the nation.
