Super Adoption- Here's your chance to get a new best and furry friend!

Valley Animal Center will be hosting its annual Super Adoption event.

Valley Animal Center is a nonprofit no-kill dog and cat adoption center, low-cost clinic, membership-based dog park, & humane education provider.

Its mission is to help alleviate the pet overpopulation problem through adoptions, spaying and neutering, and education rather than euthanasia.

Super Adoption is on Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 9 AM - 2 PM ats 3934 N. Hayston Avenue, Fresno, CA 93726. http://www.valleyanimal.org/

Meet hundreds of animals up for adoption from local shelters and rescues. In addition to the animals available for adoption, there will be a vendor faire, food, doggie demonstrations, a photo booth, and more!

Admission is free.

Taking it to the Streets- Clovis is having an urban design contest.

20 parking spaces will be turned into parklets throughout the streets of Old Town Clovis. A creative way for people to interact with each other.

Women's Art & Music Festival of Fresno

Women's Art and Music Festival of Fresno is a collective effort by local women in Fresno, the Rape Counseling Services of Fresno and the Women's Studies Program at Fresno State.

The goal is to celebrate the local talent of women in Fresno and to heal through art and music of the destructive epidemic that gender-based violence creates. Women are encouraged to develop their art and music also their professional careers.

This is why all of our efforts from this event will be donated to paid internship for Women's Studies students who want to work in the elimination of gender-based violence.

Several artists will perform at the Tower Theatre Friday, May 6 from 5-10pm. Admission is $5 for students and $10 General Admission. http://www.wamff.org/
