The San Jose Sharks made a move on the eve of the NHL's trade deadline, acquiring winger Jannik Hansen from the Vancouver Canucks.

In return, the Canucks receive prospect Nikolay Goldobin and a conditional fourth-round pick, the teams announced Tuesday. The draft selection will become a first-round pick if the Sharks win the Stanley Cup this year.

The Canucks retained 20 percent of Hansen's salary/cap hit for the remainder of his contract, a source told ESPN.

Hansen had a limited no-trade clause in which he had a list of eight teams that he would be willing to accept a trade to, and San Jose is believed to be one of them.

The 30-year-old native of Denmark has another year left on his deal next season at $2.5 million.

The Canucks are in sell mode, having also dealt away veteran winger Alex Burrows to theOttawa Senatorson Monday.
