Derek Carr joins ABC30 as weekly contributor

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- ABC30 is very excited to announce that Oakland franchise quarterback and former Fresno State great Derek Carr will be joining Action News as a special contributor for the upcoming season. The second year QB will join us for a weekly show to talk about everything from the Raiders, to NFL hot topics and of course, his beloved Bulldogs.

Derek Carr proved himself to be more than just a reliable signal caller after a stellar rookie season in the East Bay.

Action News caught up with Carr at a recent promotional shoot in Madera County to talk about this new joint venture. "I thought it was a great idea because, if I want anyone to have the inside scoop, first to know, or what's going on. All those things, I would want it to be the community I was raised in. This Fresno community, obviously with Bakersfield being close by. This is home to us." said Carr.

We'll visit with Derek each week and pick his brain on what went right, and what went wrong. For our Central Valley viewers, it's access to #4 like you've never seen before in college or pros.

"I'm excited to recap what, the game we just played give a little preview of what's to come. And I'm sure that we'll have fun with it. As long as you take it easy on me, sometimes. They're not all perfect. No, we're going to have a great time and to be able to do it with you to, that means a lot to us." added Carr.
