DeRuyter and the 'Dogs look to get back on winning track
Fresno State will try and snap a 5-game losing streak on Friday Night against UNLV

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- After five straight losses, Bulldogs Head Coach Tim DeRuyter maintains a positive outlook, "At some point, hopefully it starts this Friday night, at some point our guys are going to get it and we are going to take off."

The Kilton Anderson era began on Saturday night with an interception. The redshirt freshman became the fourth Bulldog quarterback to start a game this season, Fresno State is the only team in the FBS to have started four different quarterbacks.

"Kilton will be our quarterback, he has to go through that learning process as well, we are trying to design some things for him that take advantage of his skill set like we did last week. But the bottom line is we have to execute, 11 guys have to execute," said DeRuyter.

Execution is where the problem lies for the 'Dogs, a lack of offensive continuity and a defense giving up big plays has resulted in a 5-game losing streak and a frustrated fan base.

"We have to give them a reason to stick around, in years past we have. Obviously we aren't playing well right now. We know that this is a business that we aren't playing for 2016, we are playing for Friday and we are practicing for Friday. Our guys will have a great week of practice, we will demand it from them and we will have a great effort on Friday," said DeRuyter.
