DeRuyter cleaning up ahead of MW Championship
For the second time this season, Fresno State has reeled off a three-game winning streak, the latest victory ensuring a spot in Saturday's Mountain West Championship game at Boise State.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- For the second time this season, Fresno State has reeled off a three-game winning streak, the latest victory ensuring a spot in Saturday's Mountain West Championship game at Boise State.

"I am really impressed with the way our guys rallied," said Fresno State Head Coach Tim DeRuyter, "the way our assistance got our guys to improve and really develop during the year and find ways to in."

"We're a little bit lucky to be in the situation we are," admitted Fresno State Quarterback Brian Burrell. "With that being said, we're going to make the most of this opportunity."

But last Saturday's 28-21 win over Hawaii wasn't exactly convincing, leaving Coach DeRuyter focused on cleaning things up before heading to Boise.

"Finishing is always a point of emphasis," stressed DeRuyter. "When we start drills in January, it's all about finish. You've got to finish plays, you've got to quarters, you've got to finish halves, you've got to finish games. We did not do a very good job of that on Saturday. We turned the ball over which we can't do. We've got to do a better job of that."

In Idaho, Fresno State will face a Bronco team they lost to, 37-27, back on October 17th. But as expected, the Bulldogs are grateful for another shot on the blue turf.

"I think the fact that we went to Boise and competed for three quarters, [and] we're in a position to have a chance to win that game," said DeRuyter, [I think it gave] our guys some confidence, especially when there was some doubt there."

"I believe in our team," said Burrell. "I believe that we're a good team. I believe that we haven't put our best team together. I believe in every guy out on the field."

Kickoff at Albertson's Stadium is set for 7 p.m. Pacific on Saturday night.
