GLENDALE, Ariz. --Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig had no comment Tuesday to a report that his Sherman Oaks, California, home was robbed of at least $170,000 in property, mostly jewelry.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the theft took place the week of Feb. 27. Puig arrived at Arizona for spring training days before the mandatory report date of Feb. 21 for position players.

The LAPD is continuing to investigate the burglary.

"I don't want to talk about that," Puig said through a team translator. "If you have another question I will talk about that."

The Los Angeles Times reported that the theft could be for as much as $170,000. The website TMZ.com is reporting the theft at as much as $500,000.

An acquaintance is staying at Puig's Los Angeles-area residence while he is in Arizona, but that person was believed to be away when the daytime theft took place.

The 26-year-old Cuba native signed a seven-year, $42 million deal with the Dodgers before the 2012 season, leaving two years remaining on the contract.
