Fresno Grizzlies go with unconventional bullpen
The Fresno Tacos beat the Round Rock Express 6-3 Thursday night.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Fresno Tacos beat the Round Rock Express 6-3 Thursday night. That's 10 straight wins for the Grizzlies and a staggering 18 out of 19 overall. The magic number to clinch the division is at 5.

Grizzlies hosted a "Legends of the Throwdown" competition, and this year's winner - El Premio Mayor - beat out the other previous champions.

Action News has talked about the Grizzlies starting pitching and hitting during this amazing 18-1 run in the month of August during our newscasts. The Grizzlies bullpen has also been lights out, but they're using a different approach that has yet to be seen if it'll work in the postseason.

Coming into Thursday night's game, Fresno's bullpen featured a 5-0 record, 8 saves and 2.91 era in the month of August. Included in this talented group is Hanford native and all-star Tyson Perez.

But you probably don't know any of the other guys in this group. Manager Tony DeFrancesco and pitching coach Ace Adams aren't too worried about the lack of set roles coming out of the bullpen. They may revisit the idea as the team inches closer to the playoffs.
