Fresno State prepares for showdown with #1 Alabama
Bulldogs face tough road test

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Take a look at the Fresno State football schedule and there are some games that jump off the page. One of those games is this coming Saturday as the 'Dogs will travel to Tuscaloosa to take on the #1 Alabama.

"Obviously it's a huge challenge for us. But it's a great opportunity to go play in that environment, 100,000 fans against the #1 team in the nation," said Bulldogs head coach Jeff Tedford.

Alabama is coming off a dominant 24-7 win over #3 Florida State this past Saturday and now turns their attention to the Dogs.

"Fresno State, Jeff Tedford is one of the best coaches I think offensively in the country," said Alabama head coach Nick Saban. "This is going to be a different kind of challenge for us and something our players have to respond to because this is a much, much-improved team."

Fresno State enters with the momentum of a 66-0 win over Incarnate Word and will look to keep that consistency heading into Saturday's showdown.

"We shouldn't fluctuate our practice habits depending on who we are playing and nothing changes. Obviously, we are playing the #1 team in the Nation. But it wouldn't matter if we are playing them or someone else. Our standards and how we practice and what our practice habits are shouldn't change from week to week," said Tedford.
