Fresno State announced junior quarterback Ford Childress will likely miss the remainder of the season due to an internal injury that required surgery on Sunday.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno State announced junior quarterback Ford Childress will likely miss the remainder of the season due to an internal injury that required surgery on Sunday.

Fresno State released the following statement to Action News:

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State head coach Tim DeRuyter announced late Sunday afternoon that junior quarterback Ford Childress will likely miss the remainder of the season due to an internal injury that required surgery Sunday morning.

Childress started and played the entire game for the Bulldogs on Saturday night in a loss at San Jose State. He was 19-of-32 passing in the game for 159 yards with two touchdown passes and one interception. Childress traveled back with the team following the game and was taken to a Fresno hospital upon the teams return.
