Homecoming week at Fresno State, optimism high for the football team
Fresno state returns home to bulldog stadium a perfect 2-0, in Mountain West play

FRESNO, Calif (KFSN) -- Fresno State returns home to bulldog stadium a perfect 2-0, in Mountain West play as the dogs play host to New Mexico October 14.

"The valley trophy is going to be hosted on the Spartans home turf"

The Valley trophy is back in Fresno after 27-10 Bulldogs win at San Jose State.

"It looks good, big and heavy and shiny. So it goes nice up there," said Tedford.

One of the standout players for the dogs--Hanford High's Juju Hughes, who earned the Mountain West defensive player of the week for his performance which included an interception, sack forced fumble and six tackles.

"Well deserved. He's been playing very solid all year, practices hard every day--paying attention to all the little things so it's nice to see that pay off for him because he's come a long way."

The dogs now turn their attention to New Mexico a team they last played in 2013 when Fresno State put up 822 yards of total offense-- in a 69-28 win.

"In all things that's why I said, we talk about offense. But in all phases of the game, we need to bring our A game because these guys will bring it, they are a very good football in all areas."
