Hopkins, Taylor lead Fresno State past San Jose State 77-57

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Jaron Hopkins scored 16 of his 20 points in the second half when Deshon Taylor scored 12 of his 19 and Fresno State pulled away for a 77-57 win over San Jose State on Wednesday night.

Hopkins had two quick baskets to open the second half for the Bulldogs (18-8, 8-5 Mountain West Conference), who led 32-31 at intermission. He also had the last four points of a 10-0 run that made it 60-39 midway through the second half.

Taylor had three straight 3-pointers after a 3-point play in three minutes in the midst of a 28-8 run.

Keith Fisher had 17 points and 13 rebounds for the Spartans (3-21, 0-13), who have lost 13 straight. Ryan Welage added 15 points.

San Jose State had a 23-6 run in the first half to take a 26-17 lead but the Bulldogs answered with 13 points late in the half.
