HOUSTON -- Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout returned to the lineup for Thursday night's 3-0 loss to the Houston Astros after missing two games because of an injured left wrist.

Trout went 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.

He was hurt trying to make a diving catch in the fourth inning on Sunday in a 13-7 victory over Texas. He remained in the game and later hit a grand slam.

Trout, the reigning AL MVP, leads the majors with 31 homers and is hitting .312 with 64 RBIs.

The Astros swept the three-game series with the Angels, taking a two-game lead in the AL West.
