Nevada shuts down Fresno State in 2nd half for 30-16 win

FRESNO, Calif. -- James Butler ran for 122 yards and one touchdown, freshman Dameon Baber tied a conference single-game record with three interceptions and Nevada beat Fresno State 30-16 on Thursday night.

Butler made it a two-score game after running 59 yards for a touchdown with 11:17 left. Two plays later, Baber made his first interception of the second half on Kilton Anderson's deep ball.

Tyler Stewart passed for 206 yards with one touchdown and one interception for Nevada (5-4, 3-2 Mountain West). Don Jackson had 140 yards on 21 carries.

Nevada forced a fumble on Fresno State's opening drive and Matthew Lyons scooped up the loose ball and ran 30 yards for a 7-0 lead. The Wolf Pack took at 14-3 lead when Hasaan Henderson jumped over a defender to catch Stewart's pass and raced for a 73-yard TD.

Anderson had two touchdowns in the second quarter to pull Fresno State (2-7, 1-5) within 17-16 just before halftime.
