We've identified the top all-time quarterbacks for every NFL teamand asked our NFL Nation beat reporters -- and you, the fans -- to help us determine each signal-caller's place in franchise history.

What follows is the final ranking of the top quarterbacks in San Francisco 49ers history, both from our NFL Nation reporter and our final fan polling.

NFL Nation ranking:

1. Joe Montana

2. Steve Young

3. John Brodie

4. Y.A. Tittle

5. Jeff Garcia

In Montana and Young, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better one-two combination for any franchise in NFL history. Montana was the ultimate winner with a perfect 4-0 mark in Super Bowls and also holds just about every major franchise passing record. In most places, Young easily would sit atop the list as the owner of the fourth-highest passer rating in league history and a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Brodie's longevity with the Niners gives him a slight edge over Tittle, though both hold prominent places in franchise lore. Garcia doesn't rise to the level of the others on the list but he went to three Pro Bowls and is fourth on the team's list in passing yards. -- Nick Wagoner
