FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Google has changed its search algorithm , and it could impact businesses significantly. The change will affect how Google does searches on your smart phone. The site will now list websites with mobile versions higher when you "Google."

Website operators are always trying to keep their sites high in the search rankings. Businesses were given two months to prepare for the change. If they didn't, many sites could see a huge drop in visitors and business, particularly small retailers, that haven't designed their sites to look particularly good on small screens.

'Mobilegeddon' as it's being called, will have an huge impact on search optimization on your phone, but the new change won't impact "Googling" on your desktop or tablet.
