FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Fresno County Sheriff's Office is still searching for one or multiple suspects.
Two of those young men are expected to survive but one is in critical condition and suffering from life-threatening injuries.
A shooting on Highway 41 left sheriff's deputies with three crime scenes to investigate.
It happened right before midnight Friday on Highway 41 near American Avenue. Deputies say three young men in their late teens to early twenties were on the highway after leaving a party in Riverdale when another car pulled up alongside them and began firing-all three of those young men were shot.
Lt. Mark Padilla said, "We don't know if words must have been exchanged and that's where our three victims were shot at."
After they were hit by the gunfire deputies say they were able to continue driving to get themselves to Community Regional Medical Center.
Along the way, one victim either got out or fell out of the car at Divisadero and U Street. The two other victims got themselves to the hospital where their parked truck marked with blood was surrounded by law enforcement outside of CRMC.
"We had the crime scene out at American and Highway 41, we had where the one subject was dropped off at Divisadero and U Street and then Community Regional Medical Center out other two victims," Lt. Padilla said.
The sheriff's office says they do not believe this shooting is associated with the random shootings in Fresno County because after interviewing two of the victims, they have reason to believe both parties may have known each other.
Lt. Padilla said, "We do not believe it's related to our random shooter on the west side at this point those shootings have occurred in a different area and a different time of day we do not believe this is related to that at all."
So far the sheriff's office doesn't know how many suspects are involved or a good description of them or the car they were driving.
If anyone saw anything related to this incident they are asked to call the sheriff's office.
