2 injured in Highway 99 crash in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Two men are recovering in the hospital after sustaining injuries in a crash in West Central Fresno.

The crash happened just after 11 p.m. on Wednesday in the area of Ashlan and Highway 99. The driver of a box truck was having mechanical trouble and was stopped at the side of the road -- when the driver of a Mazda SUV ran into the back of the truck.

Both men were taken to Community Regional Medical Center. The SUV driver may have suffered broken bones, while the box truck driver complained of pain to his shoulder.
