Accident on HWY 43 near Hanford leaves 1 person in critical condition, 3 with major injuries

HANFORD. Calif. (KFSN) -- The Highway Patrol is investigating a head-on collision that left one person in critical condition and three others with major injuries. It happened on Highway 43 and Idaho near Hanford.

Officers said a black SUV swerved into the opposite lane and hit an oncoming car.

Authorities said they're investigating whether this could be a hit and run incident after a witness told police that a third vehicle was involved-- a white truck.

For now one person is still in the hospital.
