Big rig fire on Highway 99 causes traffic to back up
Traffic was backed up for miles Tuesday morning during the busy morning commute after a big rig caught fire.

MADERA COUNTY (KFSN) -- Traffic was backed up for miles Tuesday morning during the busy morning commute after a big rig caught fire. It happened just after 7:00 a.m. on Highway 99 and Avenue 7 in Madera County.

The driver was able to pull to the side and get out safely.

The northbound right lane of the 99 was closed for several hours for the cleanup.

It is not yet known what caused the fire
