Authorities say a Chowchilla man in his 30s was killed in the crash, and investigators do not suspect alcohol was a factor at this time.

A deadly crash is forcing the California Highway Patrol to shut down the interchange where Highway 41 connects with Highway 180, authorities said.

The crash happened on the connecting road from southbound Highway 41 to eastbound 180 at around 4:30 a.m. when a car collided with a concrete pillar. The CHP says traffic will be impacted until 11 a.m. while crews repair the damaged area.
