Pedestrian hit by truck crossing Fresno Freeway

A woman is recovering in the hospital after being hit by a vehicle on the highway.

The accident happened just after 6 p.m. on Highway 180, east of Highway 168. The CHP says a woman tried to run across lanes of traffic when she was clipped by a truck.

The driver of the truck got and out tried to help her until paramedics arrived. The victim was taken to the hospital with major injuries.
