Planada man hit and killed by big rig on HWY 99 near Chowchilla

FRESNO, Calif. -- A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a big rig Friday morning. The crash happened on Northbound Highway 99 at Avenue 23 1/2 -- north of Highway 152.

The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Carlos Manuel Saldana of Planada.

CHP closed the slow lane for several hours Friday morning, all lanes have since re-opened.
