Westbound Highway 180/41 connector shut down after car collides with person

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- One person is dead Sunday night following a crash on Highway 180 near the 41 connector.

The crash happened just before 9 p.m. The CHP says a white Lexus collided into a person trying to cross the highway and rolled over several times.

The person crossing the highway was killed, but the driver and passengers of the Lexas only suffered minor injuries. Police are investigating why the victim was trying to cross the road, but they did see an abandoned car near the scene that may have broken down.

Traffic has been shut down for the past several hours, and it's unknown how long it will remain closed.
