Two dead, four injured after two pickups crash in Hanford

HANFORD, Calif. (KFSN) -- The crash happened just after 1 a.m. Thursday in the area of Grangeville and Avenue 9 1/4.

Police say a Dodge pickup collided with a Chevy S10 pickup at the center of the intersection. Three people were thrown out of the vehicles. Two people were unable to get out when one of the vehicles caught fire.

"There were several citizens that tried to pull them out. They realized the one lady they tried to pull out was deceased. They went back to get the second lady, and the truck was fully engulfed at that time. They couldn't get to her," said Lt. Greg Freiner, Hanford Police

Those that were ejected from the vehicles were taken to local hospitals. There is no word if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
