FARMERSVILLE, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police in the community of Farmersville are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a mother of seven children. They believe 35-year-old Angelica Haro was trying to stop an attack on a family member.
Farmersville investigators say they have found the black hummer involved in the shooting. It was located in Lindsay. They are still looking for Juan, Manuel, Jorge and Josue Valencia. The four people, who they believe attacked a man and then killed a woman.
The husband of 35-year-old Angelica Haro spent the day gathering support from family members and friends, as he mourned the loss of his wife. Too heartbroken to speak on camera, he told us he and Angelica had been together 20 years and shared seven children together.
Farmersville Police Chief Mario Krstic said, "We have some very strong leads now and we're hoping for a quick resolution to the case."
Farmersville police and emergency crews rushed to the house at around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, after the family called 9-1-1 to say someone had been shot. When they arrived they found the victim with one gunshot wound. She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she died.
Investigators say shortly before she was shot, four men had shown up to the house, to fight someone.
Chief Krstic added, "There were initially two males and then two additional males showed up at the residence they got into a physical altercation with one of the male occupants of the residents out front."
Police say at that point, Angelica rushed out of her house to see what was going on, or help, and was shot by one of the suspects.
Chief Krstic explained, "It appears that she may have come out to stop the fight or aid in the outnumbered situation that was going on there."
Family members say they are devastated by the woman's loss, adding that she was a wonderful person and loving mother.
