Veteran's Day classic car thief granted early release

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Thomas Cummings, the man who stole two classic cars from an Air Force veteran the night before Veteran's Day in 2015, has been granted early release from prison.

Fresno County District Attorney, Lisa Smittcamp, announced in a press release on Monday that Cummings was granted release by the Board of Parole Hearings in accordance with Proposition 57.

The DA's office said they strongly objected to his release.
