Rain doesn't dampen Clovis Rodeo fun on Saturday
Thousands of rodeo fans crammed the stands to watch cowboys from all over the country compete in Clovis on Saturday.

CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- Thousands of rodeo fans crammed the stands to watch cowboys from all over the country compete in Clovis on Saturday.

The Clovis Rodeo is an annual tradition that brings the community together to witness competitors at the top of their game, so a little bit of rain early Saturday morning didn't put a wrench in the day's festivities.

"Last year when it rained during the performance they were still here, so this is great weather compared to what we had last year," Clovis Rodeo Association President Greg Gillard said.

Rain puddles and muddy walkways surrounded the stands that were packed to capacity. A little earlier in the day, people who turned up for the 101st Clovis Rodeo Parade had to bundle up just a bit and take cover. But the show must go on, even if the weather doesn't cooperate.

"It doesn't matter if it's raining or not raining, we still have a good time," rodeo visitor Daniel Eisenberg said.

Tickets are still available for Sunday's finals performances, before these cowboys head on to their next adventure in the rodeo circuits.
