FRESNO, Calif (KFSN) -- Rainy weather moved across the Valley during Thursday's rush hour commute. A few drivers at the busy intersection of Highway 180 and Madera Avenue in Kerman were caught off guard.

"We need rain but it's scary because roads are slippery, it's scary to travel anywhere. People are in a rush especially in the rain and you can't really see anything," said Cathy Saelee.

The rainy weather didn't stop a crowd raising awareness about transgender issues in the Tower district. But others at the one Enchanted Evening celebration in Clovis who came prepared for a storm were disappointed because it didn't rain there. They're worried about the impact another dry year will have on the Valley's economy.

"It's very scary for the farmers and the people because aquifers are going down and all these people in little cities their wells are going dry," said Florence Eymann.
