2 people shot inside home in Northeast Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police say two people are in serious condition after someone broke into a home and shot them. It happened before 9 pm near the intersection of Spruce and Millbrook in Northeast Fresno.

Police responded to a panic alarm at 8:45 pm at a home off Spruce near Millbrook.

Police say when they arrived they found the door of the home forced in. Inside, a man and woman in their thirties were on the ground with multiple gunshots to their upper torsos.

Police say this shooting was not random and believe the two victims were a target -- the motive is still unclear.

We can confirm that man shot is at Community Regional Medical Center and is in fair condition but the woman's condition is unknown.

The Fresno Police Department is not releasing any new information at this time but we do know they believe the two victims were specifically targeted.

Meanwhile, police are still investigating and searching the home for more insight into what happened.
