So Cal officials prepare for potential flooding, mudslides

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Rain is expected to hit next week in Southern California as well. Those forecasted storms could bring flooding and mudslides to fire-torn Orange County. City and county officials are working together to ensure the area is prepared.

Anaheim's Public Works Department is out sucking debris out of storm drains in preparation for next week's forecasted storms. The team is also using a robotic camera inside the drain to make sure water is flowing.

Erin Ryan said, "We can't control how much rain we get but we can control our preparedness and what we do to set ourselves up to prepare for any amount of rain we see."

The city is working closely with Orange County Public Works to protect the areas burned by devastating California wildfires.

Crews have laid out several acres of hydro mulch and placed thousands of gravel bags to block debris flow.
