FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Two 100-year-old veterans received a very special honor today at Paintbrush Assisted Living.

The joint service honors command fired a 21-gun salute in honor of Veterans Day and veterans Alfred Landucci and Frank Catuzzo.

Landucci served in the army for four years during World War II as a member of the Signal Corps. He was stationed in the pacific islands and was honorably discharged in 1945 with the rank of Master Sergeant. He was almost at a loss for words when asked how he felt about being recognized today. "Out of this world! That's all I can say."

For his service in the war, Landucci received a bronze star.

Although he did not receive the award until 60 years after the war was over.
