TULARE, Calif. -- Three South Valley teenagers are in jail after being accused of stabbing a man to death last Friday afternoon.

Tulare police say the teens are 15, 16 and 17-years-old.

Investigators say they stabbed 21-year-old Eduardo Veyna several times near the intersection of Sacramento Street and San Joaquin Avenue. Veyna later died at the hospital.

Officers say they arrested the three suspects and found the weapon just a few hours after the murder. "During the course of the investigation we were able to identify, through some leads, that this was a gang-related type of assault," explained Sgt. Andy Garcia, Tulare Police Department.

City officials said there have been twice the number of murders in Tulare so far this year compared to this time last year.
