New exhibit honors Hmong history
The president of Fresno State spoke at the opening and announced a proposal for a new minor in Hmong studies.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Hmong history exhibit opened Saturday at the Fresno Fairgrounds.

It's being called one of the most historical displays of Hmong culture, and it's open right here in Fresno.

The Hmong-Story- 40 exhibit made its debut Saturday morningng at the Fresno Fairgrounds and will be open daily through January 2.

It shares the history of Hmong refugees who migrated to the Central Valley in 1975 after the Vietnam War. Fresno State president Joseph Castro spoke at the opening and announced a proposal for a new minor in Hmong studies.

If approved, the university would be the only one in the western United States to offer that option.
