Steve Harvey crowns wrong Miss Universe

LAS VEGAS. (KFSN) -- Miss Colombia was stripped of her crown at the Miss Universe pageant Sunday night thanks to a huge mistake by host Steve Harvey.

He announced that Miss Colombia was the winner when really the winner was Miss Philippines.

Harvey apparently read it wrong on the card. Pageant officials had to take the crown right off Miss Colombia's head on the stage. Harvey then tried to smooth things over. "Let me just take control of this. This is exactly what's on the card. I will take responsibility for this. It was my mistake. It was on the card. I can show it to you right there. The first runner up is Colombia. It is my mistake. Still a great night. Please don't hold it against the ladies. Please don't. It's still a great night. Thank you all."

Things got even more awkward later on twitter when Harvey tried to apologize but he misspelled the words Philippines and Colombia.
